Meet the Horses

With a choice of horses from Black Friesians and Grey Gelderlanders, to Shire horses suitable for every occasion!

Meet the charming characters that will be helping you on the day

Bob

Bob loves to work, whether he is helping with your wedding, funeral or other event he really throws his heart, soul and occasionally body into the job! He can be distinguished by the nose net he often wears in the carriage.

When Bob isn't hard at work, you can find him rolling in the dirtiest patch he can find, blowing off some steam in the field galloping around.

Bob loves strawberries, but draws the line at watermelon, it eats horses you know!

Odin

When Odin isn’t pulling a carriage you can find him hanging out with his bestie Thor. As the two of them are stable neighbours, Odin spends most his time trying to snack from Thors hayrack - if Thor lets him!

Odin like the others is a real people pleaser in the school and loves lots of praise and cuddles. He is always up for blowing the cobwebs away up the gallops or is even brave enough to go out hacking on his own!

Frank

Frank is often found with his team mate Bob.

You can usually find him at all the big parades or parties, as he enjoys a bit of loud music. He thinks they're for him!

When he's not in the carriage, he's found being ridden, and modelling for Katie Lupton. He enjoys a jump and a blast up the gallops.

Thor

Thor is one of our handsome stallions who knows how to well and truly strut his stuff down a catwalk, he’s even modelled at London Fashion Week! Despite his stunning good looks and desire to be a bit of a ladies man, Thor is a massive softie at heart. When on the yard, he spends most his time nudging our team for cuddles.

Thor aims to please whilst in the carriage and saddle, with his ears pricking forward any time he gains a “good lad.” He has an impressive number of gaits and really demonstrates why Friesian stallions are often the shown on the big screen as a hero’s trusty steed.

Stan

Stan started out pulling a beer dray, he then went on to spend 3 years personally pulling the private Omnibus for Stanford's, giving guided tours around the scenic sights of London with his partner in crime at the time, Ed.

He is now often found helping you make your day special with his new partner Ollie.

Ollie

Ollie joined the team at the beginning of Covid.

He was originally a ridden horse, before Tim taught him to drive, to pair with Stan.

He's now seen pulling the Omnibus or dray to make an impressive stamp on your day.

Steve

He may be one of the smaller grey horses at the yard, but don't let that fool you! This distinguished gentleman is not only handsome but full of life and ALWAYS eager to please.

Steve is kind natured and easy going, as with the others when he is not pulling a carriage you often find him cosying up with Arnie.

Dan

Dan was imported from Holland in 2005 by Tim.

You name it, Dan's done it. He rides, drives and even occasionally dances if your music choice is questionable!

Winston

Winston is the newest of member of the herd.

He has quickly become a firm favourite for the ridden Baraat, giving a strong, impressionable entrance.

Winston has a real love for the Dohl drummers.

When he's not under saddle, Winston can be found driving either singularly or with his friends Mouse and Ollie.

Mouse

This breath taking character was named Mouse because whilst you may not believe it now, he came to Tim incredibly timid and untrusting towards humans.

Over his time spent with Tim, Mouse has learnt that humans are not as bad as he originally thought.

As like the other members of the herd, he is willing to follow Tim to the ends of the earth.

Arnie

Arnie puts 110% into everything he does, if he didn't he wouldn't consider the job done.

Arnie can be a little unsure of some situations, but knows that as long as Tim, Gayle or their daughter Jess are sat in the drivers seat he is safe, and need not be worried.

Arnie has a fear of pineapple juice or liquids that are not water, he has a real plain taste bud! That being said he does particularly enjoy a studmuffin or two after working with Jess.

More then just working horses

The horses are part of our family, so once retired from their working duties they stay with us and spend their retirement days on our yard, enjoying a quieter life with plenty of cuddles, lazy days in the field and adventures out with their riders!

Etse

The oldest of the Tim Woods Friesian team.

Etse joined the team when he was 4 months old, and he's still here 20+ years later. After being personally trained by Tim, Gayle and Charley, going out to help make peoples dreams come true, he now lives a quieter life.

Etse enjoys hacking, food and still loves the occasional small trot pulling the carriage around the block.
